2009 Affiliation Details

Well it is that time of the year again, time to renew your racing licence. There has been a delay this year in releasing affiliation costs, this was due to Cycling Australia reviewing the membership structure. The main change from this review has been the implementation of a common nationwide fee. So each club in every state has the same common fee.

The fee's have risen slighly again this year, again due to the ever increasing cost of insurance, which unfortunately is a necessary evil.

Along with the alignment of fee's we now see 3 licensing categories (click on each for more information);

  • 1. Recreational - entry level to the sport - click here for information

    Non-competitive membership;
    - Participation: recreational, social and charity rides, club training and coffee-shop rides
    - Volunteers: officals, coaches, administrators and supporters

  • 2. Sport - Intermediate level - click here for information

    Non-competitive membership;
    - extended to permit participation in timed individual and team-based road events (time trials)

  • 3. Racing - Competition level - click here for information

    Full competitive membership;
    - Encompassing all racing, including mass-start track and road events and all national and state championships

    You have 2 options to renew you membership, you can print a form off and fill it out or you can renew online through Cycling Australia if you got to http://www.cycling.org.au/?ID=18701 . However, online renewals will not be available until after 27 October, this is your best option for renewing as you can pay with a credit card and you will be given a receipt.

    Cycling Australia are currently working towards offering new members the ability to join online in 2009. If you choose the old fashion way of printing the form out, please send a chq or money order made payable to "Marconi Cycling Club" to PO Box 257, Quakers Hill, NSW, 2763.
